I can relate to new parents who can’t remember what they did with their time before having a baby… because I have 0 recollection of what pre-flat life was like. (I think it involved some sleep, feeling clean and an average dinner time of before 9pm).
The bathroom really looks like a bathroom with a finished wall, fitted shower and enclosure. I held my breath the whole time Dad and I were installing the glass panels, but we got it on in one piece.
The kitchen is looking more like a kitchen, with worktops measured and a sink and hob fitted in place (thanks to my Uncle John and mum for their insane precision and nerves of steel).
The hall and main room have been covered in plywood, which was like a week-long, real life jigsaw puzzle, (for ages 16+). Between me and Connor, there must be over 1000 nails in my floor. Thankfully, the job is done for now, as my poor thumbs can’t take much more battering. Shout out to Gordon for helping out with plying too.
It’s really exciting to see my design and finished look appearing each week. It makes it feel more like a place I may actually live, and less like the construction project that may never end…
